The Light Fund 2009 Charity Beneficiaries

The Light Fund aims to fund specific charity projects, aimed at children, women and men. In 2009 we raised in the region of £70,000 and wanted to spread this money around to fund a number of different projects.

£3,000 Kidscape – for a programme of Zap anti-bullying training
£5,000 Orchid – for an awareness week about testicular and prostate cancer
£2,500 Douglas Bader Foundation – for a flying day for disabled children
£6,895 MSRC – for lift access to a Vigrogym
£9,000 Guide Dogs For The Blind – to provide 2nd year training for Eddie,
The Light Fund's Guide Dog puppy.
£7,000 Institute of Cancer Research – A cancer research incubator
£4,000 New Life – Two Optiflow machines for Swindon hospital for tiny babies
£7,850 Sparks – for some specific juvenile arthritis research
£5,000 Kids Company – For 6,000 meals for deprived children
£5,500 Nordoff Robbins – Music therapy training packs
£5,000 Lymphoma Association – Publication of an information booklet
£5000 WaterAid – to provide access to safe water in the worlds poorest communities
£3978 Rockinghorse – to purchase interactive play equipment for ill,injured and disabled children.
